With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, couples want to spend all the time they can together. However, date night doesn’t always mean that you have to go to a fancy restaurant or even leave the house: here are 8 fun date night ideas that you can enjoy together right at home!
MOVIE NIGHT
Round up your favorite snacks and cozy blankets, and get ready to watch movies all night! If you have an air mattress, go ahead and go all out by building a pillow fort for ultimate comfort during your movie night.
PAINT TOGETHER
Head to Walmart, Target, or your closest craft store for paint and canvas! Spend your evening trying to recreate miscellaneous works of art or painting portraits of each other.
GAME NIGHT
You’re never too old to play Monopoly, right? Jenga, Scrabble, Charades – the options for a good game night are endless.
6 classic game options:
– Jenga
– Guess Who?
– Candy Land
– Sorry!
– Scrabble
– Monopoly
MAKE DINNER TOGETHER
Instead of heading out to a restaurant, head to the kitchen! Try recreating your favorite meals together – even if they don’t turn out perfectly, you’ll have fun memories to look back on.
YOUTUBE KARAOKE
Who needs to go to a bar when you have good ol’ YouTube with every song you need for a good karaoke night?
HAVE A PICNIC
Whether you’re in your backyard or stay in your living room: grab a quilt, some pillows, and a basket of your favorite foods and enjoy a picnic together!!
BAKE TOGETHER
Try baking all of your favorite desserts from scratch!
CAMPING AT HOME
Whether you’re staying indoors or head out to the back yard, pitching a tent and camping at home is a fun way to mix it up!
If you’re tired of doing the same old things or just want to save a little bit of money, having a date night at home is a great option! It can be nicer to have that one-on-one time together versus hanging out in a crowded restaurant or a packed movie theater. I can’t wait to surprise my husband with our next at-home date because I know he will love it!

I suggested to my boyfriend the other day we paint at home. He loves the paint events we go to, but I love wine and painting in my PJs 🙂 And one of our favorites is cooking together! Love your suggestions! Happy Valentines Day!

I really loved the painting idea. That would be fun. I don’t know about a portrait though. I think a miscellaneous piece would be better or in my case abstract.

Great ideas! We love camping at home. We actually do it a lot. If the weather is good we will go outside. We used to do it on our trampoline. If we don’t feel dragging everything out or the weather is bad, we will set up a “camp site” in the living room. The kids absolutely love it.

We do all these things in our household. We are very much homebodies and would rather enjoy the new house we just moved into than go out somewhere. These are great ideas and I recommend them to everyone!

My partner and I are currently saving for travels so every night is at-home date night. We’ve done so many of these over that we did a “nostalgic online game” night last night just to do something new and found and played a bunch of the old online games we used to do when we were kids, haha.
